Wonderful Dutch Cigars
A
cigar....."a kingdom" for a cigar ! The ultimate;
to finish a good days fishing with a delicious meal, followed
by a pure Single Malt whisky and a proper cigar. Don't
you agree...... My own preference, if we're talking about
an "after dinner model", is a nice big Corona.
Not one of those small, stinking sticks of dried grass
but a proper corona, like this one here;

The "Corona Nr. 1
by Justus
van Maurik, my "house brand", so to say. (Although,
personally, I feel that De
Olifant (link to their nice website) makes the
very best cigars but I keep those for special occasions....)
If I'm afraid not to be able to finish it in a nice slow tempo
(the ONLY way to enjoy a good cigar) I will probably go for
a Panatella,
like this one here, not bad at all;

Ahh, they're nice
too ! Last but not least; for "in between" I'd
like to lit up a tuitknak which
looks like this;

You might say that this is quite
a special model and a lot of people have trouble deciding
which end to lit up. LITE
THE THIN END LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE THIN END !!! If
you do it the other way round the outer layer of tobacco will "unwind" and
the whole thing will fall apart. Please try not to forget.
By-the-way, now
we're talking about cigars.....please do me a favour and
chuck out all those cheap cigars. All those "trendy" models
in their fancy colorful boxes (puhh), they stink and taste
like shit. If we HAVE to smoke why not doing it right from
the start ? Those cheap brands are an insult to the masters
of making cigars and a pest to your environment. In Holland
we have lots and lots of high quality cigars for "small bucks" (yes,
we're lucky bastards) and below I will print some of our
best brands;
Heeren
van Ruysdael
Justus van Maurik
De Olifant (!)
De Huifkar
Balmoral
I do realize that there are quite a few other (most local)
brands which are good but those listed are quite easy to get
and please do give those cigars
the attention they deserve because they're small pieces of art. Don't hurry,
take your time, enjoy every puff (do NOT inhale, cigars are not made for inhaling,
just keep the rich smoke in your mouth for a while) the world will keep on
turning. And if you happen to be in Amsterdam, please do visit our most wonderful
cigar shop "Hajenius", what a shop.... (You can find it at the "Rokin", down-town
Amsterdam.)
